On Monday, May 22, 2017, at2 p.m., Kate Downes, a local estate planning and elder law attorney, will present a free workshop in the community room at Highland Village, located at 1 Highland Village in Shelburne Falls, Mass., a quarter of a mile from the village center.

Attorney Downes will discuss the various documents essential to ensuring that, in the event of your incapacity, your medical wishes are known and business matters can be attended to and, upon your death, your estate (no matter how small!) can be easily and properly settled. She will discuss various documents, including Wills, Trusts, Durable Powers of Attorney, Health Care Proxies, Living Wills, and HIPAA forms. There will be plenty of time for questions following the program.
