As we move into LifePath’s 28th Walkathon season, we’re looking forward to this annual event returning to the first Saturday in May (May 2). It will again take place at LifePath’s headquarters at 101 Munson Street in Greenfield. Even more this year than before, this event represents what is so wonderful about our area: community supporting community.
Fundraisers who, in most instances, are walkers, make a difference one donation at a time.
The power of community that local businesses, organizations, individuals, and other supporters have brought to the Walkathon continues to be integral to the well-being of those we serve. Because our Meals on Wheels and nutrition programs have experienced greater financial stability this year, the focus of the Walkathon event will be expanded so that funds raised may directly support a broader range of underfunded LifePath programs. Receiving generosity from the community in this way offers LifePath the flexibility to make independence an option in every way possible through Meals on Wheels, In-Home Services, Benefits Counseling, Protective Services, SHINE, Healthy Living, Money Management, and more.
Fundraisers who, in most instances, are walkers, make a difference one donation at a time. Last year 32 teams fundraised; some teams had more than 20 members, others had just a couple. With each interaction, fundraisers put themselves out there, asking those around them for their support. We are so grateful for this amazing effort on LifePath’s behalf! There are many ways you can support our programs and services:
- Collect donations and walk with us on May 2
- Join a team or start a new one
- Set targets for yourself and others and create some friendly competition
- Have your own fundraising event in support of the Walkathon
- Let us set up an online giving portal with a link for your connections to donate effortlessly.
Want to become a 2020 Walkathon sponsor?
Sponsoring the Walkathon is a demonstration of any business’s commitment to what’s at the heart of any community need and providing for that need. As the momentum builds for our largest fundraiser of the year, we ask that you please join in the commitment to local elders, persons with disabilities, and their caregivers by sponsoring the 2020 Walkathon. Additionally, employees or other groups can make a difference by forming a fundraising/walk team, collecting gifts, and showing their spirit at the event.
Here’s to a great Walkathon season ahead!
