This year's event is a great opportunity for new walkers of all ages to support their community thanks to Greenfield Savings Bank's new walker "challenge" grant. This year, GSB’s support is in the form of a $7,000 “challenge” grant to support the fundraising efforts of new walkers at the 2018 Meals on Wheels Walkathon on Saturday, April 28, from 8:30 to 11 a.m., at LifePath, 101 Munson Street in Greenfield, Mass.

“If you’ve been thinking of joining the LifePath Meals on Wheels Walkathon for the first time, this is the year to do it,” says GSB President and CEO John Howland, “because Greenfield Savings Bank will match every pledge any new walker collects up to $7000.00! That means that we will double your pledge!”

“LifePath’s Meals on Wheels program provides many of the elders in our community with a nutritious hot meal delivered to their homes,” says Howland. “This important program ensures these important members of our community with have daily contact and a ‘wellness check’ during the week. Please join me and the many GSB employees who will be walking for this great cause, and pledge generously.”

Meals on Wheels at LifePath supports over 1,000 local elders every year. Thanks to community support from local businesses and organizations like GSB and individuals like you, the $150,000 funding deficit is lessened, allowing our program to have no waiting list for eligible elders in need of a hot meal.
