Walkathon: Let’s talk about event day!
Have you marked your calendar for the Path for Life Walkathon yet? If not, it’s time to! Bring your team! Bring your family! Bring your friends!
Join us on May 6, from 10 AM to 1 PM, as the community comes together to celebrate LifePath’s 31st annual walkathon. If you haven’t joined us before, you might wonder what makes this event so special. Besides walking for a great organization, the day will be fun-filled with food, music, activities, information, and, of course, walking!
There are two walking options. If you or someone you are walking with prefers flat surface walking and a shorter course, the “Lot Walk” is the perfect option. You can easily get your steps in and browse our informational tables just by rounding the parking lot. If you are looking for more of a challenge, you may take the longer “Woods Walk” which clocks just under a mile. On both loops, there will be water stations.
Staff representatives from LifePath and our community partners will be set up in the parking lot with activities, information, and giveaways to help event attendees better understand the varied programs and services offered that assist older adults, individuals living with disabilities, and caregivers. Even if participants are not in the market for services now, knowing that they exist for themselves or a loved one is a great reason to become aware of the varied offerings. Last year we heard an attendee say, “Wow! I knew some of what LifePath offers, but today I learned about so much more. I’m so glad I visited those tables!”

New Walkathon feature! This year we are offering a tribute sign to honor or memorialize loved ones. It being LifePath’s 31st walkathon, each double-sided sign will cost $31. Donors will provide the name of who they are recognizing, and a photo and/or wording of the donor’s choosing (think “poem” or “heartfelt message”). The signs will be displayed along the walking routes on event day. If you would like to order a sign, please email giving@LifePathMA.org with a photo and wording included, or call Charity at (413) 829-9157.
Free coffee, water, donuts, and popcorn will be available to jump start your morning. Later, Cliff’s Smokin’ Backyard BBQ will serve up lunch options for a fee. While walking, talking, or eating, enjoy performances by the Farley String Band (at 10 am!), the ROMEOS (at registration!), and Ragged Blue (at 11am!). Along with musical entertainment, radio station WHAI will be on site!
This day welcomes walkers of all ages. Come one, come all, and celebrate what truly makes a community great: YOU!
