Rides for Health

2 Marvin at the doorRides for Health volunteer driver Marvin meets Terry at her door. In addition to providing Terry with a ride to her medical appointments or the pharmacy, Marvin is more than just a driver. “He hooks my seatbelt,” Terry explains. “Marv walks me into my appointment, he tells me to watch because there’s a curb coming up, he’s sitting there waiting when I come out, and walks me back to the car. He’s right there beside me.”Rides for Health is the answer to a local need. In listening sessions with area elders and people with disabilities, we have heard many times that transportation is a critical, unmet need for the area. Rides for Health volunteer drivers make a difference to the individuals with whom they are matched by offering door-through-door assisted transportation for home care clients.

Volunteers Needed!

Offer door-through-door assisted transportation to home care clients, both elders and persons with disabilities, who need transportation to or from medical appointments or other healthcare-related venues.
